Funds allow you to pool your resources with other members to tackle a global issue you care about. We’ll invest your money in a portfolio of good causes rather than stocks, and your returns will be realised as impact rather than cash.
Managed by experts in high-impact philanthropy, grants from our Funds will be made when and where they’re needed most. Be as involved as you like, with Fund strategy briefings, curated events and private member communities.

How do I contribute to the Funds?
Contributions
If you're making a contribution of less than $5000 (or equivalent) to either Fund, you can do so via our partner Every.org. They never take a cut of your donation. We recommend using their bank payment functionality so 100% reaches nonprofits, and they also support low-fee payment methods such as credit or debit cards, Apple or Google Pay, PayPal, and cryptocurrency.
If you're based in Europe you can also contribute to the Climate Change Fund via the Effective Altruism Funds here.
If you would like to make a larger contribution than $5000 (or equivalent), or prefer to do so via bank transfer or through a donor advised fund, get in touch at funds@founderspledge.com and we'll be happy to help. 100% of your donation will make it to the non-profits supported by the fund.
How do Funds fit with the rest of my FP giving options?
Your choice
We encourage all members to take advantage of the opportunity to use the Funds, for anything from the entirety of their pledge, to just a small portion. However, there is no obligation to use the Funds and you can select all charities/grants individually if that suits you best. Your advisor can discuss your options with you. How frequently will you make grants from the Funds?
Quarterly
The Fund Managers will review grant-making decisions on a quarterly basis. Decisions will be made based on the value of Funds and the available options for high-impact grant-making. We may sometimes delay grant-making if we believe that waiting for more promising opportunities will be more impactful. Conversely, we may disburse funds outside of our quarterly review dates if we become aware of a particularly promising and time-sensitive funding opportunity.
If I use the Funds, how will I find out about the grants made and the impact I’ve had?
Regular updates
The Fund Managers will maintain regular communication with grantees to track the progress of projects supported by grants from the Funds. There will be updates and events for the Fund community where you can meet both Fund Managers and grantees and learn about the impact you’ve had with your contribution.
Once I put money into a Fund, can I take it out or transfer it elsewhere?
No
Contributions to the Fund(s) are non-returnable. If you want to select some charities yourself, in addition to using the Fund(s) we recommend that you reserve a portion of your pledge for direct grant-making. Your advisor can discuss the various options available to you and help you maximise your portfolio for impact and personal interest. Do the Funds invest the capital and grant out the interest or do they disburse all contributions as grants?
All contributions are granted out
The Funds are not an investment vehicle and every penny of your contribution will be used to make grants directly to end-user organisations creating a real difference.
I’m a charity. Can I apply for money from the Funds?
No
The Funds do not generally accept applications from charities. If the Fund Managers choose to open up an application round, this will be publicised. Charities are requested not to send unsolicited applications for funding.
