The Global Health and Development Fund

Fund Objective

To tackle the vast global inequalities in health, wealth and opportunity

Nearly half the world lives on less than $2.50 a day, yet giving by the world’s richest often overlooks the world’s poorest and most vulnerable. Despite the average American household being richer than 90% of the rest of the world, only 6% of US charitable giving goes to charities which work internationally.

This Fund is focused on helping those who need it most, wherever that help can make the biggest difference. By building a mixed portfolio of direct and indirect interventions, such as policy work, we aim to:

  • Improve the lives of the world's most vulnerable people.

  • Reduce the number of easily preventable deaths worldwide.

  • Work towards sustainable, systemic change.

The Fund is a philanthropic co-funding vehicle that does not provide investment returns.

Plan for the Year

We will focus on three core values: (1) maximise impact, (2) learn and (3) collaborate.

We will maximise impact, by striking a balance between scale and certainty of outcomes in the initiatives we support.

2022
2023

We will focus on learning and sharing that learning with our partners and our community of Fund contributors.

We will focus on collaborating with other organisations to ensure our Fund fills a unique gap in the ecosystem.
